  • Minimum age: 18
  • Proof of insurance (worldwide coverage): medical / search and rescue / 3rd person liability

Useful Information

Course

The course will be devided into 2 sections:

  • Theory classes at The Babu Adventures International School/Resort (7am to 10am)
  • Practical training at our training hills (11am to 3.30pm)

Level 1
During the first 5 days, the students will be introduced to the basics of paragliding: equipment, aerodynamic, meteorology, emergency, safety techniques and reglementation. Next to the theory classes the students will also discover the equipment and practice ground handling, pre-flight procedures, forward launching, landing technique and finally do their first low level solo flight.

Level 2
The next 5 days of the course will focus on practice. The students will learn reverse launching, approaching landing zone, flying with others, weight shifting, glider movement control. They will also pursue their learning in aerodynamic, meteorology and radio communication.

Level 3
In the last 5 days of the course, the students will deepen their skills  and knowledge to become an independent solo pilot and be able to fly without supervision. They will learn to analyse the weather conditions and get an introduction to thermalling, flat land and alpine flying techniques.

Food and Accomondation

The Babu Adventures International School/Resort is located in Sirkot (3 hours from Pokhara), offering magnificent sunrises on the snowy peaks at the northern border of Nepal. We provide full board accommodation (both shared and single rooms), which includes 3 meals a day (with options for vegetarians). Our resort is like a nest in the mountains, where you will be able to relax and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit. Meals and snacks are prepared by our skilled cooks and the evening offers all the sounds of nature with the heavenly stars shining overhead.

Transport

On the first day of the course we will drive together from Pokhara to our resort in Sirkot. During the course the jeep will drop you at the take-off and pick you up from our landing zone, to bring you back to The Babu Adventures International School/Resort. On the last day of the course our driver will bring you back to Pokhara.

Note

All class training and flight training session timings are subject to weather conditions and conditions on the ground. Timing may be adjusted by the instructor to suit conditions of the day.
